Police Community Support Officer
Tel: 0845 456 456 4
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Marie Quentin
I am the new Police Community Support Officer in Whittlesey.
I have been employed by Cambridgeshire Constabulary for 1 year and 3 months, and I have worked in Wisbech, Chatteris and now Whittlesey.
I know the the area very well as I used to live here, and did so for 10 years, and know many of the locals.
I also have 1 child that attends Alderman Jacobs and another child who attends Sir Harry Smiths.
My job is to help make Whittlesey a safer place to live in, and that means assisting Police Officers to crack down on crime, gather intelligence, and also patrolling the town centre and rural areas, making sure all is in order. I am very aware that some schools have major parking problems and my aim is to tackle that with a robust approach. I have given out over 300 parking tickets whilst in Wisbech, so be aware!!!!!!!!!!
I also try to get involved in youth activities and making sure the children of today have "something" to do with their spare time, rather than commit crime!
On a lighter note, I enjoy visiting the schools and giving talks on "Stranger Danger" and "bullying" "be safe, be seen" and many other topics. It is a pleasure to work with the schools, including the school councils, fetes, and various other projects in the schools, including outings, if needed. I am a qualified Safer Cycling Instructor, so you may see me teaching year 6's how to cycle safely.
If anyone has any questions or problems and would like to talk to me, please do not hesitate to contact me on: 0845 456 456 4, where i will be happy to try and help.
Marie Quentin, PCSO 7130, Whittlesey Police Station
Meet another PCSO
A little bit about me, my name is PC 2142 Kayleigh Smith and I have been a Police officer in Cambridgeshire Constabulary for the past two years. Since joining the Police Force in 2005 I have worked in March and Wisbech as a reactive officer. I have also worked as part of a crime investigation team. Before joining the police force I worked in an internet stock broking firm.
I took on my new role approximately 3 weeks ago and some of you may have met me at the recent Neighbourhood Panel meeting. I will be working alongside PC 1651 Paget, APS 1616 Bunn and PCSO 7207 Smart.
On another note I wanted to quickly give you some crime prevention advice in relation to the Christmas period. Unfortunately this time of year triggers some offenders to commit crimes such as burglaries and other thefts. Please be a bit more vigilant during this time of year in relation to extra money that you may have in the house and also any presents that you are storing under the Christmas tree. Iam pleased to say that this area has a particularly low crime rate in relation to these sorts of crimes but a little bit of precaution can never do any harm. I would also advise that if you have home security features such as CCTV and alarm systems, that you ensure they are in good working order. Needless to say, always ensure that your windows and doors are locked and secured when you are out of the house. It may also be an idea to wait until Christmas Eve before you put the presents under the tree to ensure that they are not on view.
If anyone has any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact one of us either in person at the enquiry office, via e-cops or on 0845 456 456 4
I hope you all have a brilliant Christmas and a happy new year. I look forward to meeting more of you at the next Panel Meeting.
Many Thanks
PC 2142 Smith
